Each year all patrollers are required to demonstrate defined skills via a Refresher. Last year we changed up our programs to combine into one all-day event that allows you to re-certify for the upcoming patrol year in OEC, CPR/AED, and Chair Evac. Following are key information points and links for everything you need to know for planning to attend this year’s refresher!
EVENT RELEASE – Required for participation. This year we have ONE release to cover the entire Event Schedule. From the OEC Instructor Refresher and Chair Evac on Sept 20 thru to completion of our full patrol event on Sept 27. To help make the process smoother, please complete your authorization by Sept 15. REGISTRATION – Required The new OEC Refresher program registration starts in the Learning Center on NSP.org. There are two parts:
1. OEC Online Module – this is done at your own pace but should be completed BEFORE you attend the in person skills refresher.
2. OEC Refresher Skills – a separate registration for your in-person activities. You select the location where you attend (so if you can’t attend on the 27th, select the location where you arrange to participate.)

PLAN FOR THE DAY – Important information for what to expect on Sept 27
General Schedule of Events: 7am Set Up for the Day, 8am OEC Refresher, 1pm Lunch and some announcements, 1:30pm Patrol Photo (note: uniforms are not needed), 2pm Chair Evac, 5pm Cookout and Local Awards, 7pm It’s a Wrap, You’re Refreshed and ready for the season!
What to Bring Checklist: Your lunch, clothes for inside and outside skill stations for OEC, gloves and sturdy shoes and your helmet for Chair Evac, your contribution to the evening potluck, a great Refreshing attitude and a smile!
Did you Complete your advance requirements? * Finish Online OEC Modules * Register for the skills session you are attending * Sign your event release online * Complete the CPR Online if due this year * Pack your lunch * Find your helmet and hiking boots

MOUNTAIN HOSTS – Plan to arrive at MRM by noon. Check in with station 7 to confirm actual timing for your CPR skills demonstrations. After that you will merge in with the rest of patrol for lunch meeting, then out to Chair Evac. Make sure that you also complete the Event Release noted above for the refresher.
CHAIR EVAC – Participation Requirements:
- Bring helmet, gloves, good shoes, and appropriate attire for the weather.

Please note for videos 1-3, a passcode will be displayed at some point during the video. You will need that passcode to complete a Google Form verifying you watched the videos. For video 4, you will need to answer a question related to the content of the video.
POT LUCK DINNER AND AWARDS After all that work during the day we hope that you will join in for a cookout and comradery led by Tom M, Paul F, and Aaron B. Patrol will be provided meat, and patrollers are requested to bring something to share.
